19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a former number one, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - led to him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt after that period of the previous year.

The win also indicates he has secured 21 titles at twenty-one distinct events.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, comprising in that event previously this season.

His defensive strategy and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.

However the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serving game.

He recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five games to go ahead.

Both players traded service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first ATP Tour title, took control to push for a final set.

Moutet rescued 4 initial break points in a tight final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, the winner earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
